D-Do you... do you want to do this grammar lesson together?
Please?
I know what you're thinking: "I already know how to say 'with' through 一緒に! I mastered that way back in the first region. I don't need any more 'with' grammar!".
To which I say: "Shut it!... Yes you do!".
~とともに is so much more than just another way to say 一緒に, and once you read through this article, you'll understand exactly why.
The basics:
~と共に is a combination of the と particle, the word 共 (meaning "together with"), and the に particle.
When used in a sentence, ~と共に usually appears in its kana form.
~と共に has three main usages: ① to indicate that something is done together with someone else, ② to indicate that two things happen/are true at the same time, ③ to indicate that an action happens along with another.
~と共に is formal/stiff, and is generally used in formal or written contexts, rather than in everyday conversation.
