もちろん、もちろん、not only is it "of course", it's also one part of the awesome and cute grammar point, ~はもちろん!
Let's get down to business.
Nounはもちろん〜も
Example:
→ この店は寿司はもちろん、天ぷらも提供しています。
"This restaurant not only offers sushi, but also tempura.”
Welcome! Today's lesson will be all about the 〜はもちろん pattern, which is a combination of the は particle, and the adverb もちろん ("of course; certainly").
The basic idea is that we place two things on either side of 「はもちろん」, let's say "X" and "Y", to make the following pattern: 「XはもちろんY」, where "X" is something obvious, and "Y" is something less so. So ~はもちろん would be good if we wanted to say, for example, "Of course, this restaurant that is famous for sushi has delicious sashimi, but it also has very tasty green tea!". Since "delicious sashimi" is the obvious factor, it goes before 「はもちろん」, and we'll place "very tasty green tea" after it.
