Introduction

Today we have a bit of a regrettable grammar point... sorry. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth learning! After all, how often do you get to learn a point that has ず in it?

構成こうせい

  Negative verb stem(ない) + ずじまい
  (Exception: する → せずじまい)

  Example:
  → 3時間じかんも頑張がんばったが、結局けっきょくあのレベルをクリアできずじまいだった。
  "I tried my best for as many as three hours, but I didn't end up being able to clear that level.”
