〜と言ってもいい

Structure

  Verb/Noun(だ)/い-adjective/な-adjective(だ)と言いってもいい
  Example:
  → 俺おれは天才てんさいだと言いってもいい。
  "You could say I'm a genius.”

If we break down this phrase, と言いってもいい, we have our quote marker: と, the verb 言いう in its て-form, the inclusivity particle も, and good old いい. Which, is probably overcomplicating things. This is essentially just a modified version of the 〜てもいい for permission that we studied in Beginner. Here's a recap of that:
