To talk about yourself, "me, myself, and I" are all you really need in English! But for better or for worse, things aren't so simple in Japanese. In fact, there are many, many ways to say "I" in Japanese, and they're all a little different! We're going to cover some of the most common ones today.
If you take one thing from this lesson, it should be that determining which personal pronoun to use depends on many different factors. It varies depending on who you're speaking with (and in what situation), how you feel, how old you are, and even your gender.
