Hello, and welcome to another "must/have to..." lesson. I know I know, there are already so many of these, and you're thinking "when we will stop introducing new ones" and "what are their differences" and blah blah. But don't worry, today's lesson will spend some time giving you a SUPER TOP-SECRET shortcut to "must" mastery. Read on to find out what the heck it is.
Negative verb (ない)なければいけない・なければならない
Example:
→ 車を買わなければいけない。
"(I) must buy a car.”
A few lessons ago, I introduced you to 「〜ないといけない」wherein we were able to make "must/have to" statements using the と conditional marker. In today's lesson, we'll essentially be doing the same thing, except we'll be using the conditional ば instead.
