The mysteries of: Tim and spice

Uhh, I mean, time and space. Well, really just time haha. Jeez. Can we start over?

Structure

  • b

    Verb/い-adjectiveとき

  • b

    な-adjectiveなとき

  • b

    Example:
    わかときは、毎日まいにちオレンジジュースをんでいた。
"I drank orange juice every day when I was young.”

fyi
Like many grammar points, とき can be written in both kanji or kana, but when used in the way we'll discuss today, kana is more common. This helps to distinguish it from 〜, which denotes the time of day.
