The "stem" of a verb, made by conjugating a verb to its ます-form and removing ます (e.g. {食|た}べる → {食|た}べます → {食|た}べ).
verb + verb" lesson! I heard you enjoyed the last one covering ~始める and ~出す so much, that I decided to write you another one right away! This time, instead of "starting" we'll be looking at "continuing" and "finishing". Sounds fun, right? Let's do it!

We'll be dealing with two verbs in particular: 続ける "to continue" and 終わる "to finish". First up, continuous actions.
