Welcome to a nice and easy quick-bite lesson, all about needs. After all, we all need something... a scoop of ice cream, a pat on the back, a hug... somebody to love.

〜が必要
〜必要がある

Noun/nominalized verbが必要

→ アイスが必要だ。
”We need ice cream.”
This is probably the simplest of the two patterns, although they are both very easy.
