We're back to the の particle! This time, we'll learn how this powerful particle can turn verbs into nouns—a process known as nominalization. By learning how to nominalize, you’ll be able to add even more content to your sentences, making them much more interesting!
So what is nominalization exactly? Let me give an example. In English, we can turn the verb "to learn" into "learning" in order to say things like "Learning is fun". So, by adding "-ing" to the verb, we’ve made it into a noun! Transforming a verb into its noun form is what we call nominalization. Doesn’t sound so scary now, does it?
In Japanese, we can accomplish this by using the の particle.
