Introduction

We’ve learned how to express our intentions with つもり, but now it’s time to learn how to make plans with 予定よてい! “Wait, talking about the things we want to do isn’t the same thing as making plans?” You got that right! There’s a small nuance that distinguishes them and we’ll be learning about that today.


Got Any Plans This Weekend?

Structure:

  • b

    Casual Verb予定よていだ・です
    Example:
    来週らいしゅうにラーメンをべる予定よていだ。
    I plan on eating ramen next week.”

  • b

    Nounの予定よていだ・です
    Example:
    → キャンプは長野ながの予定よていだったけど、やっぱり北海道ほっかいどうきます。
    We were planning on going camping in Nagano, but we’ll go to Hokkaido after all.”
