Hiragana 5: らりるれろ + わをん

introduction #8
~ 5 Minutes

Introduction

Hiragana set five is the final set of the "normal" hiragana characters! Wahoo!

In this set, first up is the "r" sounds: らりるれろ. You can use these hiragana to make words like "hearth" (ろ), "interest" (り), and the auxiliary verb られる which you'll learn all about in our Apprentice region!

Next up is わをん. Only わ here can really make words on its own (e.g. "peace"), since を is a particle, and ん is, well... special. They're still super important though!

ら is for ramen! ... Obviously!

Here are the mnemonics for the "r" sound hiragana!

I'm just as disappointed as you that ら's story doesn't involve ramen... but don't worry, you can always make your own!
