～つう

と言いう can become つう in very casual speech. This is mainly used by young men.

つう can substitute for many different という patterns, such as と言いって, と言いった, ということは, って言いった, etc.

E.g. マイクが無理むりだっつった。 "Mike said it's impossible."

E.g. 行いったっつったよね。 "You said you went right?"

つう is almost always pronounced with a small つ in front (「っつう」), except when it starts a sentence.
