~という理由で
Due to/for the reason...
About
The ~という理由で structure is used to designate the preceding phrase as the "reason" for something. It makes use of ~という, which refers to the previous noun/phrase, 理由 "reason", and で, the だ auxiliary verb's conjunctive form. ~という理由で often translates to "Due to X".
E.g. お腹が非常に空いていたという理由で、犯人はピザを盗んだ。 "The culprit stole the pizza due to extreme hunger."
When the "reason" comes in a previous sentence, という may be swapped with こういう・そういう・ああいう.
E.g. そういう理由でやったなら、仕方ないね。 "If that was the reason for you doing that, then it can't be helped, can it?"
