なんて is an adverbial particle that is casual in tone, and has two unique usages:

① Disbelief

E.g. 部長ぶちょうが遅刻ちこくするなんて信しんじられません。 "I can't believe that the department head would be late."

② Exclamation and emphasis

E.g. なんて可愛かわいいの！ "How cute!"

E.g. なんてつまらない本ほんなんだ。買かわなければよかったな。
