〜なさい attaches to a verb's stem form and is used to make polite, but firm commands. 〜なさい is most commonly used by parents and teachers to tell their children/students what to do.
Because 〜なさい is a command, it shouldn't be used towards people who are above you in the social hierarchy: your elders, superiors, senpais, etc.
