どんなに~ても
No matter how (much)
About
The 「どんなに~ても」 pattern is used to express "No matter how...", and can pair with a て form verb, adjective, or noun, followed by も.
E.g. どんなに辛くても、私は諦めない! "No matter how hard it is, I won't give up!"
E.g. どんなに高級車でも、この色は乗りたくない。 "No matter how luxurious the car is, I don't want to drive something this color."
When using どんなに with nouns, the noun must have a measurable "degree" of some kind, otherwise, に must be dropped.
どんなに can be replaced by both どれだけ and いくら.
E.g. どれだけ謝られても、絶対許さない。 "No matter how much you apologize, I will not forgive you."
E.g. いくら1人前でも、これは食べきれない。 "No matter how much of a one-person serving this is (supposed to be), I can't finish it all."
いくら can be used with countable amounts such as 「一人前」 or 「二十歳」, which would sound unnatural when used with どんなに.
