About
~っけ is a casual sentence ender used to ask clarifying questions when the speaker can't quite remember a piece of information, is asking themselves a rhetorical question (about something that they can't remember), or is recollecting about something nostalgic.
~っけ can attach directly to a verb (or by using のだ・んだ), directly to an い-adjective, or to a noun/な-adjective using だ, だった, or でした.
E.g. この間行った店の名前は何だっけ? "What was the name of the restaurant we went to the other day?"
E.g. 電気消したっけ? "Did I turn off the light?"
E.g. 学生の時、毎日ここで食べたっけ。 "I ate here every day when I was a student."
Nostalgic statements made using ~っけ are more casual than those made using ~ものだ.
