〜(て)以来（いらい）

The ～て以来いらい pattern combines a て form verb with 「以来いらい」 ("since"). (「(Noun)以来いらい」 is also possible.)

The ～て以来いらい pattern is used to indicate that "ever since doing X, Y has been true". The second half of a ～て以来いらい sentence should be an action that has consistently been true until the present moment; i.e., something that keeps happening, or a state that has remained true.

E.g. 大学だいがくを卒業そつぎょうして以来いらい、ずっと1人ひとり暮ぐらしです。 "I've been living alone ever since I graduated from university."

E.g. あのラーメン屋やで魚介ぎょかいラーメンを食たべて以来いらい、ずっと魚介ぎょかいラーメンにハマっている。 "I've been hooked on seafood ramen ever since I had it at that ramen place."

E.g. 仕事しごとが忙いそがしくて、去年きょねんの正月しょうがつ以来いらい、実家じっかに帰かえれていない。 "Work has been busy, and I haven't been able to visit my parents since last New Year's."

The second half of a ～て以来いらい sentence can't feature a one-time action, or a future action. The event before ～以来いらい should also be something that isn't too close to the present (a few weeks or more, at least).

～て以来いらい is most commonly used in casual/polite scenarios.
