About
The particle より ("from"), can be used in a similar way to the particle から in order to indicate a physical or temporal starting point.
より can also indicate the "source" of something, and functions as "from (person)" in casual letters.
In general, より tends to be reserved for formal situations or written Japanese, and compared to から, it is far less commonly used in everyday, spoken language.
