I really wish...

About

~ないもの(だろう)か is used to express the speaker's strong desire for X/to be able to do Y.

~ないもの(だろう)か can be approximated as "I really wish/I'd really like to X" in English.

もの(だろう)か can be attached to regular negative verbs, or negative potential form verbs.

E.g. おこめ値段ねだんがもうすこがらないものか。 "I really wish the price of rice would come down a bit more."

E.g. ゆびいたみがはやないものだろうか。 "I really wish my finger would stop hurting soon."

E.g. この時計とけい、とてもってるので、なんとかなおないものだろうか。 "I really like this watch, so I hope they can fix it somehow."

When dealing with verbs that the speaker has no control over, ~ないものか can only be used in combination with negative potential verbs.
