According to ME, Japanese grammar is awesome. And I'm the only source that matters... or am I?

Example:
→ マイクによると、スティーブは10時にはもう寝ていたようだ。
”According to Mike, it seems that Steve was already in bed sleeping at 10.”
によると is a fairly straightforward piece of grammar. All it does is attach to a noun, and say "According to (noun)..." or "Based on/from (noun)...". We can then follow that up with whatever information the speaker gathered from the source noun.
