Welcome to がち land, where we'll all learn to love and worship the two-kana glory that is 「~がち」. Well, maybe not love and worship, maybe just tolerate, but... oh well, let's just get on with it.
Verb stem/nounがち
Noun(の・な)がち
Example:
→ 彼は大切なことを忘れがちだ。
"He tends to forget important things.”
がち (very rarely written in kanji as 勝ち) is a suffix that attaches to stem form verbs or nouns and indicates a negative tendency of some sort. This can refer to a person, place, or thing. Just make sure it's a negative tendency, as ~がち doesn't tend to be used for positive inclinations.
