You must be shocked that ばかり has so many different usages, and I don't blame you. It's like the Swiss Army Knife of adverbial particles! Anyway, let's get down to business.

〜(Verb)ばかりだ: Nothing but X (action)

  Casual (dictionary) form verbばかりだ
  Example:
  → 今年ことしの夏なつは暑あつくなるばかりだ。
  "This summer keeps getting hotter and hotter.”

～ばかりだ is very similar to some other grammar you recently learned: ～一方いっぽうだ ("X is getting more and more Y"). The key difference is that ～ばかりだ doesn't include the "more and more" nuance, meaning that we're able to use it with verbs that don't have an "increasing/decreasing" quality.
