Introduction

You've been working really hard lately, so I think it's time for a nice, simple lesson.

Today, we're going to learn how to talk about what something/someone/somewhere is famous for! This is great for talking about your hometown that is surely well-known for something awesome, and not just cabbages or something... right?

〜は〜で有名ゆうめい: I'm famous for being not famous

構成こうせい

  • b

    〜Noun有名ゆうめい

  • b

    〜(Nominalized verb/い-adjective/な-adjective)有名ゆうめい

    Example:
    日本にほんはおいしい料理りょうり有名ゆうめいです。
"Japan is famous for (its) delicious cuisine.”

The 「〜は〜で有名ゆうめい」 structure is all about denoting a topic, and then saying what it's famous for. It's super easy! The only odd thing is how we use な-adjectives, but we'll get there when we get there.
