What's up, fellow Japanese language enthusiasts?!

If I had to say what this lesson's about, it's about... some really awesome "if I had to say" type grammar.

And that's a fact!

Today, you'll learn how to say "if I had to say (who/what/why/where/when)...", let's get to it!


Where furigana?
Like in the previous lesson, we've removed furigana for う to aid our TTS. I think you can read that one by now though... right? 😉

~かとうと: Not a grammar point that speaks exclusively of cats

    (Question word) + casual form verb/い-adjectiveかというと

    (Question word) + な-adjective/nounかというと
    Example:
    → どうしてこわしたかというと......こわしたかったからだ。
    "If I was to say why I broke it... it was because I wanted to.”
