~ことから: “Based on (the fact)…”

~ことから: Based on/from X (AKA cold, hard, facts)

    Example:
    → マイクさんはまだていることから昨日きのうはかなりおそくまでんでいたとかんがえられます。
    "Based on the fact that Mike is still sleeping, it can be thought that he was out drinking until quite late yesterday.”

Today's lesson is all about the ~ことから pattern, which is used to express "Based on X thing..." or "From X thing...", with "thing" being 「(Phrase)こと」. For ~ことから statements, the thing that we are basing our statement on should be some reality or concrete fact.
