
Today, we have another 「もの」 lesson! Hurray!
As usual, もの can be a bit slippery since its base meaning of "thing" doesn't always show up, and when it does, it's often in a not-so-literal way. Let's see what it's getting up to this time...
Verb/い-adjectiveものがある
な-adjectiveなものがある
Example:
→ 彼の眼は冷ややかなものがあった。
"There was something cold about his gaze.”
「〜という感じがする」、「〜という特徴を持っている」という意味。よく話者が感じたことを表すときに使う。
