Introduction
In the event of an emergency involving the 〜場合は grammar point, please refer to this article. Heh.
In the event (it happened) that I wasn't able to come up with a clever main header...
Structure
Nounの場合は
な-adjective(な)場合は
casual form
verb/い-adjective場合はAKA plain form (e.g. 食べる, 食べた, おいしい)
Example:
→ 車がない場合は、歩いてきてください。
"In the event that you don't have a car, please walk here.”
fun fact
Some Japanese speakers pronounce 場合 as 「ばわい」. This is (technically) incorrect, and if you try and type 「ばわい」into your IME, 場合 won't come up! Some native speakers are convinced that it's correct though so... just try not to get into any arguments.
