Welcome to the second installment of the grand negator series! In this lesson, we'll put on our tuxedos and prepare our speeches for the formal negator: ではない. I think you'll find that differences in formality aside, it's not too different from its casual sibling, じゃない. So without further ado, let's get to it!
Noun/な-Adjectiveではない(です)
Example:
→ 学生ではないです。
”I am not a student.”
Just like with its casual companion, じゃない, we can simply attach ではない to a noun or な-adjective, and BOOM: negative. Check it out!
