In a previous lesson, we learned how ~ている is used to describe ongoing actions, whether they’re happening now, have been happening for a while, or are simply habits and frequent routines. This time, we’ll be adding another ている weapon to our arsenal that will make your Japanese sound top-notch! (Which will definitely give you even more cool points. *Wink*). We’ll be talking about how ~ている can also add a “lingering effect” to actions, and how our old pals, もう and まだ, work great with this conjugation too!
Polite form:
Affirmative: て-form Verbいます
Negative: て-form Verbいません
Example:
→ 雪が止んでいます。
”The snow has stopped.”
