～させて（ください・くれる・いただく・もらう）

About

Causative form verbs can be used in combination with verbs of giving and receiving, as well ください ("please") to form requests.

E.g. あの歌うたを歌うたわせてください！ "Please let me sing that song!"

E.g. あの本ほんを読よませてもらえますか。 "Could I possibly read that book?"

In casual situations, the shortened form of させる, さす, can be used. (For godan verbs, add す to the negative stem form.)

E.g. 食たべる → 食たべ → 食たべさす

E.g. 飲のむ → 飲のまない → 飲のます

This form can be used in its て form to make requests as well.

E.g. ちょっとそれ飲のまして。 "Let me drink some of that."
