なし (無し in kanji) means "no..." and attaches to a noun or phrase.
E.g. 顔無し "No Face"
なし can be followed by several different particles, depending on context.
The particle で is commonly combined with なし to make ~なしで, which generally means "Without X".
E.g. イクラなしでください。 "Without salmon roe please."
なし can also be combined with の to make ~なしの, which describes something as being without something else.
E.g. 砂糖なしのジンジャーエールを飲んだ。 "I drank a sugar-free ginger ale."
