About

なし (し in kanji) means "no..." and attaches to a noun or phrase.

E.g. かおし "No Face"

なし can be followed by several different particles, depending on context.

The particle で is commonly combined with なし to make ~なしで, which generally means "Without X".

E.g. イクラなしでください。 "Without salmon roe please."

なし can also be combined with の to make ~なしの, which describes something as being without something else.
