ますます
More and more/less and less
About
ますます (or 益々 in kanji) is an adverb that describes that something is becoming "more and more X" or "less and less Y". ますます has no attachment rules, but should precede whatever is "increasing/decreasing" in the sentence.
E.g. 来週の天気はますます悪くなりそうだ。 "Next week's weather seems to be getting worse and worse."
E.g. 買い物をしているとますますお腹が空いてくる。 "Shopping makes me more and more hungry."
ますます is also commonly used in many formal set phrases, such as those at the start/end of letters and emails.
E.g. 益々のご活躍とご多幸をお祈り申し上げます。 "Wishing you happiness and continued success in your endevours."
