About
型 may be read as either がた or けい and is used as a suffix meaning "type", "shape", or "form". 型 can follow either nouns or い-adjectives.
E.g. 血液型なに? "What's your blood type?"
型 can also be used as a standalone noun that means "model; type; shape; mould".
E.g. クッキーを作りたいけど型がないな。 "I want to make cookies but I don't have a cookie cutter."
型 may be replaced with the kanji 形. 形 can also be read as either がた or けい and is used specifically when dealing with the physical "shape" of something. 型 can be used for physical shapes, as well as "styles" and "types".
