About

というと・といえば・といったら are all combinations of the と quotation marker and conditional forms of the verb う, and have the following usages:

"Speaking of"

"X makes me think of Y"

"By X, do you mean Y?"

"X is X, but Y"

Topic marker

といえば

といったら

といったら in particular may be used to form "speaking of X"- type sentences:

E.g. はるといったら花見はなみだ。 "When I hear spring I think of hanami."

As well as "X makes me think of Y"-type sentences:

E.g. 北海道ほっかいどうといったら美味おいしい牛乳ぎゅうにゅう想像そうぞうします。 "Hokkaido" makes me think of (lit. imagine) tasty milk."

~といったら can also be used to mark the topic of discussion, and emphasize how the speaker feels about it:

E.g. 通勤つうきんラッシュの具合ぐあいといったらいきもできないくらいだ。 "When it comes to the state of the rush hour (to work), it's (to the extent) that I can't even breathe."
