～に合った・に合わせて

～に合あった and ～に合あわせて can be attached to nouns, and indicate that something is "suitable/appropriate" for X noun or that something is done in accordance with X noun.

～に合あった is used to connect to a following noun and is intransitive.

E.g. 肌はだにあった化粧水けしょうすいを使つかうべきです。 "You ought to use lotion that is suitable for your skin."

～に合あわせて is used to connect to a following verb/adjective and is transitive.

E.g. 壁かべの色いろに合あわせて家具かぐを選えらびました。 "I picked furniture according to the color of the walls."

～に合あった・に合あわせて can appear in either kanji or kana.

The 合あう in 「～に合あった」 can be conjugated to suit different sentences (e.g. に合あっている).
