〜ないといけない
Must do...
About
The ~ないといけない ("must/have to") pattern combines a negative verb/い-adjective with the と particle and 行く's negative potential form, いけない.
E.g. 今すぐ行かないといけない。 "I must go at once."
For い-adjectives to combine with ~ないといけない, they must use the 「(continuative form)する・なる」 pattern.
E.g. これをもっとおいしくしないといけない。 "I must make this tastier."
~ないといけない tends to be used for large responsibilities, or important "must"s, rather than trivial things that one has to do.
In more casual situations, the final いけない may be dropped, or substituted for だめ:
E.g. これ全部読まないと。 "I have to read all of this."
E.g. これ全部読まないとだめ。 "I have to read all of this."
