Explanatory particle
About
The explanatory の, or ん in spoken Japanese, has two main usages:

Giving a statement an explanatory tone

Clearing up a misunderstanding.
の・ん may follow an い/な-adjective, verb, or noun. Keep in mind that な-adjectives and nouns require な to attach to の・ん.
の・ん may be followed by the casual だ or the polite です.
