~後で/に
After/later
About
The noun 後 can be used to indicate that an action happens "after" another. To do this, we attach it directly to a casual past verb or to a noun using the の particle.
E.g. 食べた後
"after (someone) had eaten"
E.g. ランチの後
”after lunch"
~後 can be followed by the に particle or the で particle. ~後に links two actions more closely in time, while ~後で links them more loosely (as in, the second action may not happen right away).
後 may also directly attach to a time noun to express "X time from now" or "in X amount of time". In this case, its reading usually changes to 後.
E.g. 3時間後。
"Three hours from now."
