〜ように・~ような
Like/as
About
よう ("way; form"), can be combined with に or な to form a simile (a comparison made using like or as). When the word that follows よう is a verb or adjective, the に particle must be used, rather than な, which is specifically for attaching to nouns.
E.g. 犬のように食べる。"To eat like a dog."
When な is attached to よう, the following word must be a noun.
E.g. スティーブのような恐竜になりたい。”I want to become a dinosaur like Steve."
~ように can follow a noun using the の particle or can be directly attached to verbs/い-adjectives.
