～ばかりで

About

The ばかりで pattern is a combination of the ばかり + で particles and is used to denote something as having "only X negative quality, and none of Y good quality".

〜ばかりで can attach to て form and dictionary form verbs, い-adjectives, and な-adjectives.

E.g. マイクは、文句もんくを言いうばかりで、全然ぜんぜん手伝てつだわない。 "Mike just complains and doesn't help at all."

E.g. うちの子こは遊あそんでばかりで勉強べんきょうをしない。 "My kid just plays and doesn't study."

E.g. あそこのレストランは高たかいばかりで、美味おいしくなかった。 "That restaurant was just expensive, and not tasty."

E.g. あの人ひとは顔かおがきれいなばかりで、性格せいかくが悪わるすぎる。 "That person has only a pretty face and an awful personality."
