どうしても

どうしても ("no matter what") is a combination of どう + して (する's て form) + the も particle.

どうしても is often best translated as "just", "simply", "very", or "really", but this will depend on context, and what best fits the surrounding English.

Usually, どうしても is used when ① we want to do something (badly), ② want (badly) not to do something, ③ (very much) cannot do something, or ④ cannot help but feel a certain way. どうしても provides emphasis in these cases.

E.g. どうしてもキノコは食たべたくない。 "I don't want to eat mushrooms at all."

E.g. ポテチの袋ふくろがどうしても開あかない！ "I simply cannot open the chip bag!"

どうしても can follow a verb + the conditional marker と.
