ほど～ない

About

ほど can combine with a negative verb or adjective to form the ～ほど～ない pattern.

The ～ほど～ない pattern has two main usages:

① "X is not as Y as Z"

E.g. みんなが言いうほど美味おいしくなかった。 "(It) wasn't as tasty as everyone says."

② "X is the most..."/"There is no X as Y"

E.g. 私わたしほどきれいな人ひとはいない。 "There is no one as beautiful as me."
