〜直す
To re-do
About
The verb 直す ("to fix; to correct") can be combined with a verb stem in order to express that an action is "re-done". 〜直す statements specifically indicate that an action is done over in order to achieve a better result.
Common combinations are 書き直す ("re-write"), し直す ("re-do"), 見直す ("review"), etc.
直す may also be left in its stem form to form a noun-like verb, e.g. the very common 「やり直し」("do-over").
