(から)〜にかけて

About

〜から〜にかけて is used to express "from X to/until Y", where "X" and "Y" are not clearly defined start and end points.

E.g. これから7月がつにかけて、日本にほんは梅雨つゆのシーズンです。 "From now into July, Japan has its rainy season."

から is often omitted when the start point is already clear.

E.g. 年末ねんまつにかけて忙いそがしくなりますか？ "Are you going to be busy toward the end of the year?"

〜から〜にかけて can't be used with instantaneous actions, such as 帰かえる or 出発しゅっぱつする.
