たとえ～ても

The たとえ～ても pattern combines the adverb 「たとえ」 ("even if; supposing that; no matter (how/what)") with a verb/い-adjective in its て form + も, or a noun/な-adjective + でも.

たとえ～ても・たとえ～でも is used to express "even if..." or "no matter how...", and tends to express that "Even if X, Y reality/plan/fact/emotion/etc. won't change".

Additional information often comes in between たとえ and the following て form verb/adjective/noun.

E.g. 明日あしたは、たとえ調子ちょうしが悪わるくても休やすめない。 "Even if I'm not feeling good tomorrow, I can't take the day off."

E.g. たとえ親おやに反対はんたいされても、やめない。 "Even if my parents are against it, I won't stop."

E.g. 作つくり方かたがたとえ複雑ふくざつでも、最後さいごまであきらめない。 "Even if it's difficult to make, I won't give up (lit. to the end)."
