Because/so/therefore

N2

ものだから・もので

Because/so/therefore

About

~ものだから is used to provide a reason or an excuse, often with the nuance of justifying the speaker's actions.

~ものだから has many possible forms, and can be modified to be more casual, or more polite:

E.g. ものだから・ものですから・ものですので・もので・ものなので,

E.g. もんだから・もんですから・もんですので・もんで・もんなので (more casual)

~ものだから is objective in tone, and implies that a result is only natural given the circumstances.

~ものだから can directly attach to casual form い-adjectives and verbs, or to nouns/な-adjectives using な.

E.g. 人身事故じんしんじこがあったものでおくれてしまいました。 "There was an accident where someone got hurt, so I was late."

E.g. やすかったもので、ついたくさんってしまった。 "They were cheap, so I bought a bunch without thinking."

E.g. バスは不便ふべんもので、あまり使つかわないんです。 "The bus is inconvenient, so I don't really use it."

~ものでして is also possible, and is commonly used to end a ~ものでして sentence in the middle, allowing the rest to be implied. This is often done when turning down an offer.

E.g. すみません、ビールは苦手にがてものでして......。 "Sorry, I'm not a big fan of beer..."
