~てたまらない combines a て form verb or adjective with たまらない ("unbearable") and is used when the speaker is overcome with a strong feeling or emotion.
~てたまらない is used to express the speaker's own feelings.
~てたまらない can attach to verbs in their たい form (たい -> たくて), or to て form い-adjectives/な-adjectives + で.
E.g. マルに会いたくてたまらない! "I miss Maru so much!"
E.g. 部屋が暑くてたまらなかったので、会議の途中で出てきてしまった。 "The room was unbearably hot, so I left in the middle of the meeting."
E.g. この壁の色が嫌でたまらないんだ。 "I really do not like the color of this wall."
~てたまらない can't be used with naturally occurring phenomena, states, or actions. I.e., things that exist independently of how the speaker feels.
