The particle で can be used to mark the method or tool used to complete a certain action. To use it, simply attach "で" to the tool or method and follow it with the associated verb, e.g. 「はしで食たべる」 ("to eat with chopsticks").

で can also be used to indicate a mode of transportation. In this case, で attaches to the mode of transportation used, e.g. 「電車でんしゃで行いく」("to go by train").

In casual situations, the verb that follows で is often dropped, e.g. 「電車でんしゃ で」, which implies "to go by train".
